The U.S. Treasury Department imposed new sanctions on individuals, networks and 17 vessels accused of moving Iranian crude oil, petrochemicals and petroleum products.
The measures are part of Washington’s effort to restrict revenue flowing to Iran’s government and military programs.
Shadow fleet remains a major enforcement target
Iran has relied on networks of tankers, intermediaries and opaque ownership structures to move oil despite sanctions.
The Treasury said the latest designations target vessels and entities involved in those transactions.
The move comes amid renewed diplomatic discussions between Washington and Tehran and continued instability in global energy markets.
