RTX’s Raytheon has won a U.S. military contract worth up to $6.3 billion to produce and maintain Standard Missile-3 Block IB interceptors.
The missiles are designed to counter short- and intermediate-range ballistic missile threats.
Pentagon is rebuilding missile inventories
The contract comes as the U.S. expands missile-defense production following heavy demand from conflicts and deployments in the Middle East.
Raytheon has been investing in additional manufacturing capacity in Arizona and Alabama.
The award is part of a broader Pentagon effort to secure longer-term production contracts and strengthen defense supply chains.
