AI startup Manus has raised more than $500 million in new funding after separating from a planned acquisition by Meta that had valued the business at more than $2 billion.
The round was co-led by Boyu Capital and IDG Capital, with support from existing investors.
Manus returns to independent growth
The company’s parent, Butterfly Effect, plans to use the capital to expand its AI products and rebuild momentum outside Meta.
The funding demonstrates continued investor appetite for independent AI companies even as large technology firms pursue acquisitions and strategic stakes across the sector.
Manus will now face the challenge of scaling products and infrastructure without the resources of a major platform owner.
