Foxconn Q3 Revenue Jumps 47% as AI Server Demand Accelerates

Foxconn's third-quarter revenue rose 47% year over year, beating market forecasts as AI server demand continued to surge.

Foxconn reported a 47% year-on-year increase in third-quarter revenue, beating market expectations as demand for artificial-intelligence servers continued to expand.

The Taiwanese manufacturer, formally Hon Hai Precision Industry, is the world’s largest contract electronics maker and a major supplier to Apple as well as leading data-center companies.

AI infrastructure drives the upside

The strongest contribution came from Foxconn’s cloud network products division, which includes servers used in AI data centers. The company has been increasing capacity for systems built around Nvidia accelerators as hyperscale cloud providers expand computing infrastructure.

Foxconn said currency movements were a headwind during the quarter, but the effect was outweighed by strong shipment growth.

Fourth-quarter demand remains in focus

The company’s outlook is closely watched because its results provide an early signal on electronics supply-chain demand. Investors are particularly focused on whether AI server growth can offset more mature smartphone and consumer-electronics businesses.

Foxconn is scheduled to provide a fuller earnings update later in the quarter, including margins and capital-spending plans.
