Elon Musk said SpaceX will rename its artificial-intelligence unit from SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI.
Musk confirmed the change in a post on X after a user asked whether the business would adopt the term “super intelligence,” language recently promoted by U.S. President Donald Trump.
No timeline was announced
At the time of Reuters’ report, the SpaceXAI account on X had not yet been renamed. Musk did not provide a timetable or describe any operational changes accompanying the new name.
The move appears to be a branding decision rather than a restructuring announcement. SpaceX did not immediately provide additional comment.
Washington is pushing new AI terminology
Trump has recently argued that U.S. government documents should use “super intelligence” instead of “artificial intelligence.” His administration has also created a federal task force around the technology.
SpaceX has become increasingly involved in AI through its broader technology businesses and infrastructure, making the name change notable even without a change in ownership or product strategy.
