More than 200,000 people have been displaced in Yemen since early September as fighting between Houthi forces and the Saudi-backed government escalates, according to the International Organization for Migration.
The figure has risen sharply from around 76,000 displaced people reported in mid-September.
Humanitarian needs are rising quickly
The IOM said families urgently need food, shelter and basic services. Taiz and several other governorates have seen major population movements.
More than 3,700 Yemenis have also crossed the sea to Djibouti, while the World Food Programme says severe hunger is affecting a large share of households in some areas.
The latest escalation is the most serious since a 2022 UN-brokered truce reduced large-scale fighting.
