The United States moved B-1 bombers out of RAF Fairford in Britain after security concerns linked to a suspected plot targeting the base.
U.S. Vice President JD Vance said the redeployment was made out of an “abundance of caution.” British authorities arrested five men near the base as part of an investigation.
No explosives were found
Authorities have not announced the discovery of an explosive device, and Iran has denied involvement in any plot.
The base had hosted U.S. bombers used in recent operations connected to tensions with Iran.
Military readiness unchanged, officials say
U.S. and NATO officials said moving the aircraft does not materially reduce overall operational readiness and described the step as precautionary.
The investigation remains active, and responsibility for any alleged plot has not been established in court.
