SAP Agrees to Acquire TechWolf as AI Reshapes Workforce Planning

SAP has agreed to acquire Belgian workforce intelligence company TechWolf, adding AI-powered skills and task mapping to its SuccessFactors portfolio.

SAP has agreed to acquire Belgian workforce intelligence company TechWolf, moving to strengthen its human-resources software as companies reorganize jobs and skills around artificial intelligence.

TechWolf builds software that maps the work employees perform, the skills they use and changes in the external labor market. SAP plans to integrate the company’s technology and AI research team into its broader enterprise software portfolio.

Workforce data becomes an AI asset

SAP said TechWolf’s “context graph for work” will become a core component of its workforce technology. The system continuously analyzes information from connected HR and business systems to give employers a more detailed view of tasks, capabilities and skill gaps.

That information can be used for hiring, retraining and workforce planning as companies decide which tasks can be automated and where new expertise is required.

TechWolf will retain its identity

The companies did not disclose the value of the transaction. SAP expects the acquisition to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions.

TechWolf is expected to retain its headquarters in Ghent and continue operating under CEO Andreas De Neve. SAP said the company will continue serving customers outside SAP as well.

The acquisition fits a broader push by large enterprise-software companies to turn AI from a standalone assistant into a layer that understands business processes and workforce data. For SAP, the deal gives its SuccessFactors HR platform a richer model of employee skills at a time when many companies are reassessing roles and training needs.
