Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told the UN General Assembly that the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan has opened new economic and political opportunities for the South Caucasus.
In his September 24 address, Pashinyan said the two countries should focus on strengthening and institutionalizing the peace reached in August 2025. He also pointed to unresolved issues, including missing persons, detainees and demining cooperation.
Connectivity is central to the next phase
Pashinyan has repeatedly linked the peace process to plans for new transport and trade routes. His government says the TRIPP connectivity project and its broader “Crossroads of Peace” concept could unlock regional movement of goods and investment.
Armenia and Azerbaijan have also committed to avoid rhetoric that could revive conflict, although disagreements and sensitive historical issues remain.
Relations with Türkiye also in focus
The Armenian prime minister said Yerevan wants to advance normalization with Türkiye. In a separate meeting this week, Pashinyan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan discussed trade ties, business contacts and restoring the historic Ani Bridge.
The diplomatic activity suggests the post-conflict agenda is moving increasingly toward transport links, economic integration and formal regional cooperation, even as implementation risks remain.
