Binance Takes $100 Million Stake in Circle as USDC Partnership Expands

Binance is investing $100 million in Circle under a new five-year agreement aimed at expanding USDC use across the crypto exchange’s products and global markets.

Binance is investing $100 million in Circle Internet Group as the two crypto companies deepen a partnership designed to expand the use of the USDC stablecoin across trading, savings and investment products.

Circle announced the investment Tuesday as part of a renewed five-year commercial agreement. The companies said Binance will integrate USDC more broadly across its existing and future services, while the partnership will also focus on growing adoption in emerging markets.

A bigger push for USDC distribution

USDC is one of the world’s largest dollar-linked stablecoins and is widely used for trading, payments and moving funds between crypto platforms. Circle issues the token and manages the reserves that support its one-dollar target.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Binance’s investment is intended to strengthen USDC distribution and that the exchange plans incentives for some USDC trading pairs. The companies have worked together since 2024, but the equity investment gives the relationship a new financial dimension.

For Circle, deeper access to Binance’s global user base could increase transaction activity and circulation of USDC. For Binance, the deal broadens its stablecoin strategy at a time when regulation and competition are reshaping the sector.

Stablecoins are becoming a mainstream business battleground

The agreement comes as stablecoins move beyond a niche role in crypto trading. Financial companies increasingly view them as infrastructure for cross-border payments, settlement and digital-dollar products, while regulators are paying closer attention to reserve quality, consumer protection and financial-stability risks.

Circle became a publicly traded company in 2025, adding new scrutiny to the economics of USDC and its partnerships. The new Binance investment is therefore both a product-distribution agreement and a vote of confidence in Circle’s business model.
