Eligible iPhone owners in the United States can now submit claims in the $250 million class-action settlement involving Apple and delayed Siri and Apple Intelligence features.
The claims period opened on September 21, 2026, giving qualifying customers until December 21 to file. The settlement covers certain buyers of the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max and the iPhone 16 lineup who purchased their devices during a defined period in the United States.
Who is eligible for the Apple Siri settlement?
According to the official settlement website, claimants must be U.S. residents who were the original purchasers of an eligible iPhone in the United States between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025. The phone must have been purchased for personal or business use rather than resale.
Eligible models include the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16e, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
The lawsuit was brought by consumers who alleged that they bought eligible devices expecting to receive certain Siri and Apple Intelligence capabilities that were promoted but did not arrive as expected. Apple denies the allegations and has not admitted wrongdoing as part of the proposed settlement.
How much could eligible iPhone owners receive?
The settlement provides an estimated payment of $25 per eligible device for people who submit valid claims. The final amount can change depending on the number of approved claims and other settlement costs.
If fewer people file than anticipated, the payment can rise on a pro-rata basis to a maximum of $95 per eligible device. If participation is higher than expected, the payment could be lower than $25.
How to file a claim
Claims are being administered through Verita Global’s official settlement website. Eligible users can start the process at SmartphoneAISettlement.com and select “File A Claim.”
The claim form asks for contact information and identifying information for the qualifying device. The settlement site also provides instructions for locating an iPhone serial number in Settings > General > About.
Customers who received a settlement notice may have a Claim ID and PIN, but the official site also provides a path to begin a claim without those details.
When is the deadline?
The deadline to submit a valid claim is December 21, 2026. The same date is also the deadline for class members who want to opt out of the settlement or submit an objection.
A final approval hearing is scheduled for February 24, 2027. Payments will not be distributed unless the court grants final approval and the settlement process is completed.
Why the case matters
The dispute centers on Apple’s rollout of more personalized Siri and Apple Intelligence features. Apple previewed major new Siri capabilities in 2024, but the company later delayed some of the most anticipated functions. Apple has since launched its new Siri AI experience as part of its 2026 software cycle.
For consumers, the practical takeaway is straightforward: owning an eligible model is not enough on its own. The device must meet the U.S. purchase-date requirements, and a valid claim must be filed before the December deadline.
